CUSTOMER
NPCC owns a dedicated marine fleet consisting 13 construction barges capable of transporting up to 12,000 tons and lifting single structures weighing up to 2,600 tons.
APPLICATION DETAILS
NPCC were previously using CROSBY products to lubricate the wire ropes; however they experienced problems with the grease falling of the cranes making the application messy and unpleasant. The customer required a nondripping grease to lubricate their wire ropes.
BENEFITS & COST SAVINGS
The thin transparent film of ROCOL WIRESHIELD keeps the ropes clean and free from dust and dirt. The lubricant does not drip or fling-off, therefore meeting the specification of the customer. WRS provides excellent internal and external corrosion protection. The customer was previously lubricating once every 15 days, after using WIRESHIELD this has now extended to every 30 days.
